My Story

This summer I am taking on a big challenge to raise funds for Highland Hospice in memory of our beautiful Mum. Myself, Andrew, Richard and Phillip lost our wonderful mum at the age of just 37 back in 1999, where she was beautiful cared for at the Highland Hospice.

Some of you are aware that I joined the Highland Hospice team back in 2019 as a staff nurse and I work with the most amazing team, I feel very privileged to be apart of such a vital service providing palliative care for the Highland’s, I like to think I can give back the loving care we as a family and my mum received while she was in the Hospice, even though me and Andrew were at the young age of 5 I have never forgotten the love and attention we received, the two of us weren’t aware of what was going on with Mum until after she died. The staff that worked at the Hospice back at the time were just amazing!

This year our Mum should be celebrating her 60th so In celebration and in memory of her life I will be walking the West Highland Way which is 96 miles and to finish of I will be climbing Ben Nevis. I will be doing this challenge on my own, however I know my Mum will be with me each step of the way, I will be wild camping every night and aim to do this challenge in 6 days setting off on the 26th of July. It’s going to be a tough challenge and lots of training to do over the next couple of months! 💪🏻

So please support me on this challenge to keep raising money for our local Hospice and in memory of Jacqueline. ❤️
