"I have chosen to do a painting of things that i think represent the Highlands. I found it important to add heather into the background over the hills in remembrance of my granny who passed a few years ago she loved seeing the heather all over this hills as well as thistles. Her name being Heather has more meaning to it as well as I see my design and I remember all the fun and happy memories that i had with her. I have also added the Gaelic word for the Highlands as I am a very proud fluent Gaelic speaker so felt it was important to show that in my design."
